Overview
Design heavyweights Made Thought approached us last year to create a set of product launch key visuals for KEF, creators of innovative, award-winning speakers. Taking Made Thought’s brief on the characteristics of three new KEF products and collaborating with them throughout, we distilled each speaker’s identity to craft a world for all three – showcasing this world through imagery and motion design.

Blade Meta

A speaker with a sculptural form, offering users the finest sound quality as well as a design statement. The quality of sound is the hero concept behind the Blade Meta, and with a springboard provided by Made Thought, we developed motion and imagery that echoed the sculptural appearance of the speaker, while effectively portraying the ebb and flow of dynamic, high-fidelity sound.

LS60 Wireless

A new product for KEF, celebrating their 60 year anniversary. For this sleek speaker we needed to convey that the wireless speaker doesn’t have to compromise on sound. Paying attention to the elegant form of the LS60 and the vibrant colour of the preferred speaker, we created a neutral abstract environment echoing the form, and evoking soundwaves and movement to encapsulate the power this speaker can produce and what makes it so special.

The Reference

A KEF classic, setting the benchmark for loudspeakers. This iconic product is hand built and imbued with exquisite detailing – something we felt was crucial to highlight. Taking cues from the brief, we created a natural yet abstract architectural setting for the product to live in, using lighting and texture to demonstrate the craftsmanship involved.

R&D

Exploration is always key in projects of this size and quality, and one of the most important things for us to experiment with was the communication of high fidelity sound through motion. Each speaker represents a different intricacy in terms of the sound it offers, and working with the Made Thought team we developed multiple interpretations before distilling them down to their final versions.
